For our Assos' female-specific S7 bib shorts, we engineered a solution that adapts the support and comfort of bib shorts for women cyclists. The T.laaLalaiShorts feature the same paneling and materials as their bib-free H.laaLalai counterparts; however, instead of a waistband, these shorts connect our Y7 frame carrier bibTech straps to a single monobib in the front, which is in turn secured by the innovative Schnalle magnetic clasp. The new Spring Fall Skin Layer is 15% lighter than its predecessor. Despite those lost grams, it also has increased collar coverage, improved odorControl, and a more streamlined, body-mapped fit. The textile is woven tighter on the front panel to provide more insulation where warmth is critical. On the back and under the arms, a more open weave increases breathability and works to actively modulate your microclimate’s temperature, expelling excess body warmth to prevent overheating during full-gas efforts.

The absence of bib straps compounds the difficulty of dialing the perfect ride-tuned fit. To address that, we reimagined the waistband with a stabilizing elastic layer that anchors the fit and an additional top band of mesh that extends coverage, independent of the elastic band, for comfort, moisture management, and to eliminate gaps between shorts and jersey while in the saddle. The updated insert features increased ventilation, a reduced footprint, and a new Odor Control Top Sheet Tex in Sugar Blue.

We improved our endurance gilet's fit with a less rigid wind-blocking front panel and a highly elastic mesh rear panel, allowing the vest to wrap the body for a rustle-free fit while also increasing breathability. Updated armhole elastic reduces restriction and ensures no overlap with the MILLE GT C2 Jersey's seams, increasing comfort and freedom of movement while eliminating friction between layers. The ultralight, ultra-packable design stows in a pocket when not needed, and the new mesh back panel reduces weight to just 75g (size medium).

The precise fit comes down to the waistband design, where we applied our breathable, ultrasoft Aerofit material at the front, using a fold-over construction that comfortably holds the shorts in place across the abdominals. We did the same at the lower legs, adding a secure, stay-put fit with an asymmetrical hold on the thighs. Compared to our Laalalai shorts, these are 2.5cm shorter in length. The critical updates to the new EQUIPE RS shorts are a new textile and a new insert. The new textile, Type.911, allowed us to completely reengineer the cut, reducing the seam count and wrinkles while micro-adjusting fit across the legs and waist. It also let us eliminate the rollBar bib strap design, because Type.911 is more elastic and more compressive than the Type.441 used on the previous generation. Rather than merely suspended from bib straps, the S11 shorts envelope the rider’s body in omnidirectional, body-mapped stability. The new RS S11 insert’s top sheet is both softer against the body and more durable for washing, and it has an improved odor control treatment while maintaining its predecessor’s cooling airflow, micro-shock damping, and low-volume, lightweight profile.
